Looking back and reflecting on the past encourages a bright and creative future.
As 2014 has gone by and 2015 is here, I want to take this time to tell you about my favorite moments in the past year and how I wish to take those memories to create opportunities for this upcoming year. We can only improve when we know where we are now. As you know, I am very thankful for 2014 and what has happened over the year but I am so EXCITED about what is going to happen this year!
One of my favorite projects of 2014:
The Purple Rose Bouquet – from a wedding in April 2014
I love this project where we were able to work together with a bride who loves purple and wanted to incorporate purple in all of her flowers. This was my first wedding custom order. I was thrilled! When we designed this bouquet, I remember how we wanted to have different shades of purple to show the bride’s love of purple and also the beauty of the roses together. To me, roses represent love and beauty – no matter what the color because as long as the bride or receiving party loves it, that is what truly matters. Roses in this project showcased the love between the bride, groom, and their families. It was beautiful.
Thinking about how we started…
In December 2012, we were thinking about what to give to our family and friends as gifts for the Christmas season. You know how you want your presents to be thoughtful and not cheesy? Something that looks beautiful yet not super expensive? Yeah, we were thinking about that too. Then it got us thinking – what can we get or make for others that would be meaningful and individualized? We then thought about Poinsettias – flowers during the holiday season.
This is one of the Poinsettia pots we gave to our family and friends – what do you think? Some preferred mixed colors and some mainly red Poinsettias. Everyone we gave these pots to loved them and it got us thinking – what else can we make with napkin paper? BAM! Pretty n Easy was born. Not that dramatic, but it was a process and we’re loving every minute of it.
How was 2014 for you? Was it amazing, beautiful, precious, or inspiring?
